What is Constructing Futures AI?
Constructing Futures AI is an international call for visions of the future of construction technology for Detroit. The call invites individuals from around the world to submit creative and innovative images that depict their vision for how construction in Detroit will evolve in the year 2050.
Who can participate in Constructing Futures AI ?
Constructing Futures AI is open to participants from all over the world. We welcome submissions from artists, designers, architects, urban planners, students, and anyone with a passion for envisioning alternative pasts, presents, and futures using generative AI.
What kind of images can be submitted?
We accept up to 5 AI-generated images per submission. You are encouraged to submit images that effectively communicate your vision for the future of construction.
What’s the preferred format for the images?
All formats are welcome for submission. The exhibition is intended to be static images printed, however videos may be able to be included in ancillary screens.
Is there a required AI text-to-image software/platform?
You are free to use any AI text-to-image software or platform of your choice to create the submission material. There are no restrictions on the version or specific software/platform to be used. Feel free to leverage the AI text-to-image technology that best suits your creative process and vision for the Constructing Futures AI project.
How can I submit my images?
To submit your images, please use the Google Form provided on our website. The form will guide you through the submission process, including uploading your images and providing any necessary details or descriptions.
Can I submit multiple entries?
Yes, you can submit multiple entries. Feel free to submit as many unique visions for Constructing Futures AI as you'd like. Each submission should be accompanied by the required information in the Google Form.
What happens after I submit my images?
After you submit your images, they will be reviewed by a jury panel of experts in the field. The selected submissions will be used as the basis for roundtable discussions and will also be featured in the Constructing Futures AI exhibition during the Detroit Month of Design in September 2024.
Will there be any prizes or awards for the selected images?
While there may not be specific prizes or awards, the selected images will gain exposure and recognition through various channels.
Can I retain the rights to my submitted images?
Yes, you will retain the rights to your submitted images. However, by participating in Constructing Futures AI , you grant the organizers the right to feature and showcase your images in the exhibition, roundtable discussions, and related promotional materials, with proper attribution.
